Nine Days of Racing (31st of July 2025 BLOG)

Wednesday the 30th of July brought an end to a hectic string of nine days of racing in the same amount of days.

As I write this on Thursday the 31st of July , I’ve been finishing the picture editing from all the events covered. As for writing a BLOG , I simply haven’t found the time. so this will have to be a short one.

The last BLOG ended on the 21st of July and since then, a lot has happened around the race tracks . I won’t attempt to do full reports on each event , instead I’ll cover the headlines.

So, I attended nine consecutive events which started on .

Tuesday 22nd July

Autodrome Granby , Quebec SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES

Matt Sheppard was the winner of day one of the Canadian Lumberjack Swing.

Wednesday 23rd July

Le RPM Speedway St Marcel De Richelieu , Quebec SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES

Day two of the Lumberjack Swing was won by Stewart Friesen .

Thursday 24th July

Airborne Park Speedway, Plattsburgh, New York

It was just a regular night racing and Chris Raabe was the Modified winner .

Friday 25th July

Mohawk International Raceway , New York

Another regular night where Josh Jock driving the loaned Casey Swamp car won the Modified feature.

Saturday 26th July

Weedsport Speedway New York SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES

Stewart Friesen was the winner of the ‘Hall of Fame’ Classic.

It was nice to meet up with my CNY tog buddies

Sunday 27th July

Cornwall Motor Speedway, Ontario

It was a regular night of racing where Mario Clair was the Modified winner

Monday 28th July

Autodrome Drummond, Quebec SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES

This was won by Matt Sheppard, which was a very memorable night for him. It was his 100th SUPER DIRTCAR win.

He scored his first SUPER DIRT SERIES win, 21 years ago back in 2004, which coincidentally , was also at Autodrome Drummond.

Unfortunately this years SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES visit to Drummond will always have sad memories for the Dirt Racing fraternity .

In all the 60 years that I’ve been going racing, I personally witnessed my worst ever wreck that night .

During the main event , Stewart Friesen , who I’ve known since he began his Dirt Modified career over 20 years ago, was involved in a scary roll-over.

According to official updates that have been issued, he is currently in a New York hospital after being transferred from Trois Rivieres .

He suffered serious injuries and will need to undergo some major surgeries.

I wish him all the best for a speedy recovery as my thoughts go out to his wife Jess, family and friends during this difficult time.

GET WELL SOON STEW

Tuesday 29th July

Autodrome Drummond , Quebec SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES

Day two of the back to back SUPER DIRT CAR SERIES races at Autodrome Drummond gave another victory to Matt Sheppard .

Wednesday 30th July

Brockville Ontario Speedway SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES

Last year, young Alex Payne was the surprise winner of the 2024 SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES , and he did the same again this year. I guess he must like the B.O.S .

So that ended my string of nine races in nine days.

Thursday was supposed to be a relaxing ‘day off’ , but that didn’t happen, I spent much of the day doing the website and editing .

My pictures from all the events attended, are now posted in the LATEST GALLERY.
