4 June Brockville Ontario Speedway

This weeks report starts on Wednesday 1 June , when I went along to the Capital City Speedway in Ottawa for their second show of the 2011 season.

06082011gTim Kirby was the Late Model winner ,

06082011hwhile both Kevin Foisy (Legends)

06082011iand Todd Musker ( Thunder Cars) recorded their second wins of the year.

06082011jThe Mini Stock Feature was won by Kyle Baker

06082011kand the 4 For Fun victory went to Moose Creek rookie Rodney Dingwall. The racing was all over by 10-30, just what ‘the doctor ordered’ as far as I was concerned. With the hectic lifestyle I lead, it’s always good to get home from a mid week race at a sensible time.

It’s still busy at my place of work, so once again my chances of any Friday night racing was zero ! I missed Roy Tarbell winning the Mod feature at my local Mohawk International Raceway.

After going in to work for a Saturday morning shift , I was ready for another night at the Brockville Ontario Speedway. Following last weeks carnage and the big wrecks, promoter Paul Kirkland held an extended drivers briefing before the races. It paid dividends, with a lot less damage occurring and the stoppages that obviously follow .

06082011r 06082011oNobody could catch Stephane Lafrance in the Modified Feature and he easily notched up his second BOS victory of the year.

06082011tThe Sportsman Feature turned out to be the high light of the night for many of us, with Kingston, Ont, Jessica Power holding off Dylan Evoy to record her first ever Feature win in this division. She drove a great race and it was really nice to see, nearly every other driver pull up at the start line to acknowledge her win and congratulate her. The large crowd of BOS fans in the grandstands also loved it and the cheer as she got out of the car was enormous.

06082011qThere was also a new winner in the rookie division when Westport, Ont Joe McNichols was the victor.

06082011sThe Vintage Mods at the BOS seem to be going from strength to strength and with around 20 cars in attendance put on a great show. Paul Billings took the win , but I also must compliment the rest of the drivers, who put on a great ‘Green to Checkers’ show , with no cautions.06082011l

06082011pThe final race of the night for the Street Stocks was won by Derek Cryderman.

There was no racing for me at the Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday because of personal engagements, which will all be revealed in next weeks report.
