Battle of Ontario (23/24 Feb 2013)

This week, I decided to give up the chance of a new track to add to my list, in favour of an NHL game. There was an ice racing event taking place at St Ferdinand , Que on Saturday, but I decided against it. The races were scheduled to start at 10-00 am in the morning, but even a nice early start like that would of been pushing it too fine, to be in Ottawa for the face off.

I was joined by www.rickattheraces.com web master, Craig Revelle for our annual trip to see the Ottawa Senators beat the Toronto Maple Leafs !

It was a nail biting game as the ‘Battle of Ontario’ went into the final period and it was one goal a piece as we went into the final minute of play . With 23 seconds of the game left, the ‘Sens’ scored the winning goal.potw214a

My Sunday afternoon was spent on the couch, watching the live coverage of the Daytona 500,which signalled the start of the NASCAR season. Pole sitter was female driver Danica Patrick who grabbed much of the media attention.

In my opinion, the race turned out to be, very uninteresting, and it was made worse by the extensive amount of breaks for commercials. Winner was Jimmie Johnson in the Hendricks Motorsports Chevrolet
