Six Days in HOSPITAL (8 to 13 July 2015)

A BIG THANKS , to all of you who have sent such kind messages of support  via Face Book or regular e-mail following my ongoing health issues. I am overwhelmed and humbled.

I must also mention how blessed I am to have such a wonderful daughter Carla, who immediately flew in from Texas, to be with me. I don’t know how I could of got by without her. Love You Lots Carla

For those of you who don’t know, this time last week, I was lying in a hospital bed at the Ottawa Civic Hospital after an emergency admittance, following the diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis.

It is a medical condition that effects the bodies nerve ‘communication’ system to the muscles and at times,  can cause extreme fatigue and a lack of breath.

I was kept in for five days of aggressive treatment and medication and I’m now back home in Cornwall. I have to get plenty of rest and give the treatment a chance to work.

One of the main muscles affected by MG  are the eyes , so I have to restrict the strain I put on them, with such things as looking at my computer.

Like I said, I’m overwhelmed by your kind messages of support and have to apologize for not being able to reply to you all individually. I’m sure you will understand.

It’s going to be a long road back to normality, but I hope to get there eventually. It’s very frustrating to be missing the races, but getting fit again, must be my priority.
THANKS AGAIN,  Rick

PS.   I had to miss the Big Block Super Dirt Series race at my local Mohawk International Raceway, and once again I thank my buddy Andy Watts for sending me the Victory Lane shots of Billy Decker’s winsds mir aw
