Three wins in Three Days for Chris Raabe (4th Sept 2026 BLOG)

The Last Blog ended on Sunday the 23rd of August when my local Cornwall Motor Speedway called an early cancelation with the forecast of heavy rain.

I’d just come to the end of a 10 day feast of racing.

It’s never good to have a rain out but if I look on the bright side , it gave me time to catch up with other stuff that needed doing.

By the time it got round to Wednesday , I was starting to feel some cold and Flu symptoms .

On Thursday the 27th , I was still feeling much the same, so with rain expected at the Airborne Park Speedway , Plattsburgh , I thought it would be best to stay at home.

My usual ‘Airborne’ traveling companion, Don Simpson was also giving it a miss as he’d got afternoon appointments in Ottawa.

It turned out to be another missed race day, because despite the weather challenges, they managed to get the races in that night .

In my absence, Chris Raabe won Airborne’s Modified feature.

On Friday my local Mohawk International Raceway , had a regular weekly show , with the addition of Vintage Mods .

It’s only a 15 minute drive from home , and although I was still feeling ‘rough’ I decided to go , with the plan of staying warm, taking things easy and keeping the picture taking to a minimum.

As usual the regular program consisted of Modifieds, Sportsman, Limited Sportsman , Pro Stocks and Mini Stocks .

The first of the features was for the Limited Sportsman

Garin Thompson got the win.

Next up it was the visiting Eastern Ontario Vintage Mods

As usual they had two winners in the same race

First of 70’s class cars to cross the finish line was Ian Gordon

Then in the 60’s division it was Chris Wilson who took the checkers,

Then it was the turn of the Sportsman.

After winning nine of the last Sportsman M.I.R features a bounty was put up on him, with a big bonus for anyone who could break his dominance.

Could he make it a record breaking ten in a row ?

He started a few rows back from the front , so early leader was Brennan Moore

Moore never managed to stay up front for long , as Ladouceur got passed him within a few laps to make it win number ten.

It was then time for the Pro Stock feature

It didn’t take long for Plattsburgh’s , Zack Daniels to work his way to the front and take the checkers.

The evenings main event was up next, the feature for the 358 Modifieds

Early contenders were Cedric Gauvreau, Jordan McCreadie and Louie Jackson JR , but as they dropped back , the race was between Carey Terrance and Chris Raabe.

Raabe held off the challenging Terrance to take the checkers.

The final race of the night was the Mini Stock feature.

Once Felix Lavictoire had overhauled CJ Lavair , he stayed in front and took his second consecutive win.

So, that was it for the night, I was soon on my way and heading for home.

On Saturday the cold and flu symptoms were still with me , so decided a break was needed , and missed the races at Brockville and Sunday’s show at Cornwall .

In my absence Chris Raabe made it three wins in three days after taking the checkers at the B.O.S.

Brian McDonald got the win at the C.M.S

I’m hoping to get back in action soon.
