REPORT (1/2 Oct 2015)

RICK @ the RACES (1/2 Oct 2011)

This weeks report will be short and sweet, as Mother Nature put a stop to the only event I had planned for the weekend. My destination was the Fulton Speedway NY for the two day ‘Outlaw 200’. For many fans , this race, formerly known as the Victoria 200 ( until the title was switched to another track) has become the unofficial launching pad for SUPER DIRT WEEK.

Of course, as expected, my work commitments prevented me from getting to the Friday show for SPORTSMAN, so the 200 lapper for Mods on the Saturday became my ‘doable’ goal.

I left home in Cornwall, Ontario at 10-00am for a leisurely drive down into the States, and by 12-30 I was in the Adams, NY. McDonalds having lunch. I must admit, that in the past, McDonald’s have not been my first choice to eat, but since they introduced free Wi Fi at their locations, my habits have changed.

I’d ran into some wet weather before I made my stop, so with lap top logged in, I was able to check out Fulton’s status. Within minutes of chomping into my ‘Angus and bacon Burger’ I’d heard the bad news that the days racing had been canceled, with a postponement to Sunday afternoon. I had no intention of waiting around, all that time, so reluctantly headed back up Interstate 81 towards Canada.

Once back in Canada, I made a phone call to a special lady I know, and we quickly made arrangements for a quiet supper together.

On Sunday morning I eagerly checked out the the status of Fulton and not surprisingly, after a night of rain, and a gloomy forecast ahead, the event had been canceled completely. So, for the first week in quite a long time, I have no events to tell you about.

My Sunday was spent getting my stuff ready and the HHR packed for SUPER DIRT WEEK . I will be heading down to Syracuse on Wednesday , ready to take in the Media Conference and action that starts on Thursday. In the meantime here are a few reminders of  the winners from 2010
