RICK @ the RACES (26 Jan 2013)
26 Jan St Theodore D’Acton (Que)
After a midweek alert in a message from my Pennsylvanian TRACKCHASING friend Will White, I was able to add a new track to my list this past weekend. He’d spotted on an internet forum that some Banger Racing ( Course De Bazous) was taking place at the small town of St Theodore D’Acton in Quebec. I then made my own enquiries to get the information confirmed.
I left my home in Cornwall, Ontario at around 9-00 am and after a leisurely drive around the new Auto Route 30, and a stop for breakfast, I was in St Theodore D’Acton at about 11.15. The small snow covered oval was located on the sports ground in the center of the town and races were scheduled to begin at 12-30.
There were about 20 banger type cars in the pits as well as about 10 ATV quads.
After two races for the Quads, the cars came out for their heats. They were split evenly and the first two heats contained about 10 cars.
Full contact, UK style Banger Racing was the order of the day with plenty of action.
It was a frigidly cold day, so after watching the first two heats< I made my exit. I was back home in the warmth of my house soon after 4-00pm.
St Theodore D’Acton became track # 207 in my TRACKCHASING totals.
